WESTMINSTER ACADEMY CELEBRATES CULTURES AT INTERNATIONAL NIGHT
Westminster Academy for International Studies (WAIS) came alive with vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors during its annual International Night in early November. The event brought together students, families, and the local community to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures represented at the school.

Families had the opportunity to embark on a global culinary journey, sampling dishes from around the world. From savory empanadas and fragrant curries to sweet baklava, the diverse menu reflected the heritage of the school’s multicultural community. Parents and students alike shared recipes and stories, creating a deeper connection through food.

The night was also filled with captivating performances showcasing music and dance from various countries. Several groups took the stage dressed in traditional attire, performing everything from graceful Indian classical dances to the rhythmic beats of Chinese Dragon Dances. Guest performers and local artists added to the festivities, transporting the audience across continents with their art.

“At our school, we aim for our students to become global citizens,” said Tracy Wang, the Chinese Language teacher at WAIS. “This night allows our students to be more informed and open-minded about other cultures.”

International Night not only brought families together but also fostered understanding and pride in cultural diversity, a cornerstone of WAIS’s mission.
