Student Spotlight | Isabella “Nation” Trujillo Nation

Student Council | Westy | Junior

Isabella Trujillo Nation—affectionately known as “Nation”—is a proud Westy junior who does it all. From student council to choir, marching band, theatre, the IB program, FBLA, NHS, and even her early years in STEM (grades 6–8), Nation’s been involved across the district. She’s a Skyline kid too—starting back in 2nd grade through 5th—and now she’s blazing a trail toward her dreams.

With plans to attend a four-year college and pursue a career in business and event planning, Nation is motivated, entrepreneurial, and deeply connected to her roots. Growing up in a home with eight siblings under her grandma’s roof, she says the love and closeness of her family keep her grounded. “There’s lots of love. It keeps us close.”

What I Love About Westy:

“I love being part of the culture—seeing all the different personalities and people here.”

What WPS Means to Me:

“WPS has encouraged me. I can’t think of any other way of doing learning. Competency-Based Education—I love it. It helps me and the people I know. I like showing my strength in a variety of ways. It’s helped my brothers too. We’re such a close community, especially with our K–8s. That’s why I love Westy and WPS.”

Shoutout to a Star Educator:

“Ms. (Andrya) Hernandez-Robles. She’s been my star since freshman year—my school mom. She’s shown me how to persevere, to go the alpha way, and to take care of others. She’s always been there to guide me and lift me up.”
